The 2023-2024 academic year is coming to an end, and an exciting time is approaching for 8th grade students: the Transition to High School Exam (LGS)! In this article, we will share with you all the important information about the exam and tips to help you successfully complete it.
Exam Date and Applications
The LGS will be held on June 2, 2024. Participation in the exam is optional. You can apply for free through “e-Okul” between March 18-29, 2024. School principals will assist you with the application process.
Scope of the Exam
The exam will cover Turkish, T.C. History of Revolution and Atatürkism, Religion Culture and Moral Knowledge, Foreign Language, Mathematics and Science courses. Questions will be prepared based on the learning outcomes determined in the 8th grade curriculum for each subject.
Exam Sessions and Durations
The exam will be held in two sessions. The first session will start at 9:30 AM and a total of 50 questions will be asked from Turkish, T.C. History of Revolution and Atatürkism, Religion Culture and Moral Knowledge and Foreign Language courses. 75 minutes will be given for this session.
The second session will start at 11:30 AM and a total of 40 questions will be asked from Mathematics and Science courses. 80 minutes will be given for this session.
Exam Results
The exam results will be announced on June 28, 2024 on the official website of the Ministry of National Education (https://www.meb.gov.tr/).
